150 days to Gdansk!

As you know, the nextPIARC International Winter Road Congress will take place in the city of Gdansk (Poland), from 20 to 23 February 2018. This will be an exciting professional event, with technical sessions on topics as varied as road safety and Road weather information, all under the banner of the Congress motto "Providing a Safe and Sustainable Winter Road Service".

It will include an exhibition where equipment vendors and manufacturers will showcase their latest products and services. What's more, ten PIARC member countries have confirmed that they will organise national pavilions, on which delegates and visitors will be able to take stock of international developments.

The international snowplough competition is confirmed too. This is a very well appreciated part of the Congress as it involves staff members from various backgrounds, including "blue collar" operators who are an integral part of successful winter service operations.

Last but not least... Registrations for Gdansk are now open! You are all invited to check in at http://aipcrgdansk2018.org/ and get ready for an exciting adventure.

The World Road Association and the National Director of Chilean Roads Administration, First Delegate of the World Road Association in Chile, have the great regret to announce that Eng. Mr. Alberto BULL SIMPFENDORFER passed away on June 18, 2017; heavily involved in the Association, he was Coordinator for Strategic Theme A - "Management and Finance".

AIPCR Italia and Anas S.p.a. organize the international conference "Connected and Automated Driving - Moving people and freight in the future" 

The event will take place in Rome on October 13, 2017 and will count with the participation of the Secretary General of PIARC, Patrick Malléjacq. The official language of the seminar will be Italian with simultaneous translation to English.

The World Road Association contributes with partner regional organizations to road safety!

PIARC General Secretariat will be present in the meetings of two partner regional organizations: DIRCAIBEA (Council of Road Directors from Iberia and Ibero-America) meeting in Lisbon, Portugal, 2-3 October and CEDR (Conference of European Road Directors) meeting in Madrid, Spain, 5-6 October. The World Road Association will also present its work on road safety during the joint workshop CEDR-DIRCAIBEA "Road Safety, a continuous challenge" to be hold in Madrid on October 4th.
