Dear readers,
As you well know, HDM-4 is a software tool used for the strategic planning of road investments, roadwork programming, project analysis as well as research and policy studies. It is distributed by PIARC concessionaire HDMGlobal, it is used on all continents and is available in English, French and Spanish at a reasonable price. HDM-4 is widely recognized by major stakeholders such as multilateral development agencies.
Very recently, the road community demonstrated its commitment to HDM-4. The international conference which the Chilean Cement and Concrete Institute (ICH) organized in September in Santiago (Chile) was truly an international milestone, with more than 150 attendees from 15 countries. Road infrastructure managers and experts had the opportunity to meet in Santiago to analyze and share experiences regarding the management, diverse uses and best practice cases for the successful implementation of HDM-4.
This successful conference confirms PIARC's decision to continue supporting HDM-4, as was recently highlighted with the appointment of Mr Óscar De Buen, Past President of the Association, as strategic representative for HDM-4. Plans are underway with HDMGlobal, with international development agencies and with the support of PIARC Committee D.1 on Asset management, for developments and improvements to HDM-4.
In the meantime, I hope that you will find this Newsletter relevant for your needs!
Sincerely,
Patrick Malléjacq
