PIARC is one of the premier organizations in the world
that society looks to for leadership for matters related to road infrastructure
and road transport. The strength of PIARC derives from the combined knowledge
and experience of over 1000 technical experts from 124 member governments
around the world, including High Income Countries (HICs), and low- and
middle-income countries (LMICs). The Association creates value by convening
these technical experts in multiple fora to exchange ideas and develop
technical solutions that are responsive to the needs of their respective
countries.
At present a large percentage of these experts
originate from HICs who currently make up over 70% of the membership across

13 June The new
Communications Commission held its first meeting and discussed the development
of the next communication and marketing plan among others. This
meeting gave the opportunity to present the latest activities that had been carried
out, and also to prepare a first overview of the communication strategy.
Everyone had the opportunity to express their opinion regarding the
organisational objectives of the Strategic Plan 2024-2027. >>

21 June ROADPOL,
the network of European traffic police forces, and PIARC Italy, the National
Italian Committee of World Road Association, wants to consolidate and enhance
the knowledge of traffic police force and road operators in South-Eastern
Europe. With this
in mind, they jointly organised a webinar on road safety in South-Eastern
Europe. The Deputy
Secretary General of PIARC, Robin Sébille, attended the event in order to introduce
the Association to the many participants.

11-13 October, Tulln (Austria) Organised by the Austrian National Committee, the first European
Snow Plough Championship will take place in Tulln (Austria), from 11 to 13
October 2022. Past President Claude Van Rooten will attend this unique
event on behalf of the President of PIARC and will give a welcome speech
at the “Winter Service Talks“. At these talks, outstanding experts from Germany, France,
Hungary, Latvia, Sweden and Austria will report on recent developments in
