The international experts on the Technical Committees are a real asset to PIARC. These experts produce reports and organise knowledge-sharing seminars, and share their expertise with their peers. At the start of the 2024-2027 four-year cycle, we can confirm that the participation of our experts is more than satisfactory. 71 countries have nominated 1,790 experts, 40% more than four years ago, which is [...] >> Read the full editorial

“17th International
Congress of hashtag#Winter Viability and hashtag#Road Resilience 2026. The countdown is
on...! It was in a studious
and convivial atmosphere that the various organising bodies of the 17th International
Winter Road Congress, which will be held in Chambéry from 10 to 13 March 2026,
met on 6 and 7 March. On the programme: two
days of intense work, but in beautiful sunshine which brought together : - a delegation from PIARC - World Road Association - the
association organising the congress,
- the Viabilité Hivernale de Chambéry organising
committee, the COVH 2026, set up as an association by GRAND CHAMBÉRY ALPES
TOURISME to manage the project
- and the PCO MCI FRANCE agency, commissioned by the same
committee to organise the event.
This first highly
productive "technical" meeting consolidated the foundations of a
collaboration that had been underway for several months. It also enabled us to
draw up a very clear roadmap, driven by the same determination and a common
objective: the success of a much-awaited international meeting, with major
economic and political stakes in winter service and road resilience, which will
bring together more than 50 countries over 4 days in Chambéry.”
