The annual meetings in Andorra led to the election of a new Executive Committee for our association. On this occasion, I had the pleasure of being named Honorary President after more than 20 years serving in our management bodies. It’s an opportunity to reflect briefly on the past but, more importantly, to look ahead. Thanks to the remarkable perseverance of our experts, our association successfully navigated the COVID period and completed most of its work. - Tuesday, November 19: A session on AI in the road sector explored innovations for infrastructure management and road safety, moderated by Miguel Caso Flórez.
- Wednesday, November 20: Miguel Caso Flórez hosted a discussion on urban mobility, featuring key figures such as the Mayor of Madrid and the President of Spanish Municipalities.
- Thursday, November 21: Emanuela Stocchi moderated a session on diversity and leadership in transport, where Patrick Mallejacq presented PIARC’s work on inclusion and diversity.

In September, the V4 Rodeo 2024, organized by the Slovak National Committee, showcased winter maintenance driving skills, with Hungary topping the rankings. These events demonstrate PIARC’s commitment to promoting innovation and knowledge sharing in road infrastructure.

PIARC’s work on road safety, especially in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), has been highlighted in a new article in the Traffic Safety Research Journal.
