Ensuring the Network Remains Operational during Unprecedented Conditions 

Experts from PIARC's Technical Committee 1.5 shared their strategies for ensuring network operability in the face of extreme weather events at the Highways UK 2024 conference, a major event for the road sector.

PIARC Technical Committees in action: events, surveys and advances

PIARC is organizing several international seminars between April and May 2025 on key topics such as infrastructure management, climate resilience, winter service and decarbonization.

Participate in Technical Committee surveys

The surveys carried out by the Technical Committees contribute to the preparation of the final reports. Currently, Committee 3.5 is gathering data on road authorities' strategies for achieving carbon neutrality. The results will be used to formulate practical recommendations in a forthcoming report.

Technical reports soon available

The Technical Committees are continuing their work, with regular meetings between experts from around the world. The first reports are now being published, providing essential analyses and recommendations for the road sector. 

PIARC reinforces its strategic vision at the first meeting of its Executive Committee 

The aim of this introductory meeting for new Committee members was to present the Association's structure, its main missions and the 2024-2027 Strategic Plan. PIARC's new Executive Committee met online on February 25 and 26, bringing together over 40 participants from all over the world.

Discussions also focused on PIARC's responses to new challenges and the establishment of the Association's Commissions. A key moment to ensure effective collaboration and shape the future of road innovation worldwide!

PIARC commits to a safer road infrastructure at the Ministerial Conference on Road Safety

PIARC took an active part in the 4th World Ministerial Conference on Road Safety in Marrakech. Our President, Emanuela Stocchi, presented the strategies and resources developed by the Association to improve road infrastructure safety at a session organized by PIARC and IRF.

Secretary General Patrick Malléjacq spoke at the Ten Steps 2030 side event, highlighting the key role of infrastructure in reducing road risks. Thus, PIARC continues to support the international community with concrete recommendations and tools to save lives on the world's roads.

New president for PIARC's Mexican National Committee 

The Mexican Overland Engineering Association (AMIVTAC) has renewed its presidency for the period 2025-2027. At its meeting, members elected Juan José Orozco y Orozco to head the Mexican National Committee of PIARC, in the presence of Juan Carlos Fuentes Olarra, Undersecretary of Infrastructure and member of the PIARC Executive Committee.

Drawing on his involvement in PIARC's technical committees and his experience in organizing international seminars, Juan Orozco reaffirmed his ambition to strengthen the participation of AMIVTAC members in international exchanges and PIARC's work.
