Term of the Road Dictionary

  • Definition : Vervoersysteem bestaande uit een park halflangzame of niet-gemotoriseerde individuele voertuigen die tussen verschillende openbaarvervoerstations of -transferia zijn verdeeld, waarmee, ter aanvulling van de diensten van het openbaar vervoer, in goede economische omstandigheden een vervoerdienst kan worden aangeboden voor velerlei in de tijd en in de ruimte gespreide behoeften, meer bepaald in dun bediende gebieden of tijdens daluren. Toelichting: deze systemen kunnen variëren van zeer eenvoudige systemen, zoals een huur-of leenfietsenpark dat manueel wordt beheerd door loketbedienden, tot hoogtechnologische ITS-systemen zoals met radio-apparatuur uitgeruste elektrische voertuigenparken met supervisie door gecentraliseerd elektronisch beheer en een aantal relaisstations (laadpalen, radio-eindapparatuur en contactloze kaarten).
