2.3 Sustainable Freight

Road freight transport remains essential for economic and social development in all countries. In the new context of climate change, high energy prices, scarcity of base resources and ageing infrastructure, Technical Committee 2.3 "Sustainable Freight" works focus on the key factors that enable an efficient and sustainable road freight transport. This means optimising land and road use for freight services and facilities, finding and enforcing the good compliance between vehicles and roads to minimize road wear while allowing more efficient freight vehicles and ensuring the right vehicle use the right road at the right time.
