International Seminar "Resilience and Innovation in Earthworks"

2-4 November 2021, online organised from Sochi (Russia)

This international seminar was jointly organized by PIARC via its Technical Committee 4.3 "Earthworks" in cooperation by the Federal Highway Agency (Russia) and the Russian Asphalt Pavement Association (Rosasfalt, Russia).

Initially scheduled in Sochi, the seminar was finally virtual, due to the Covid19 situation, and postponed to 2nd to 4th November with respect to Moscow times and Russian organization.

Preparatory documents for the Seminar

Resilience is a new term that can correspond to the adaptation of the road infrastructure to an external event. The challenges are to minimize the delays of shut down of the transport route and the cost of repairs and to increase security. The aim of this 3 days seminar was to present and discuss within the earthworks’ community the state of the art and the developments of these new challenges.
