Term of the Road Dictionary

macrotexture

  • Theme : Operations Road Surface Characteristics
  • Definition : Surface irregularities of a road pavement with horizontal dimensions ranging between 0.5 and 50 mm and vertical dimensions between 0.2 and 10 mm. Note: macrotexture is related to aggregate size, mixture design and laying (compaction), as well as to the surface treatment applied (if any). It has wavelengths in the same order of size as tyre tread elements in the tyre-road interface.

  • Theme : Betrieb Fahrbahneigenschaften
  • Definition : Unebenheit der Oberfläche einer Fahrbahnbefestigung mit einer horizontalen Ausdehnung zwischen 0,5 und 50 mm und einer vertikalen Ausdehnung zwischen 0,2 und 10 mm. Die Makrotextur ist abhängig ebenso von der Größe der Mineralstoffe, dem Mischgutkonzept und dem Einbau (Verdichtung) wie auch der angewandten Oberflächenbehandlung (falls vorhanden). Sie hat Wellenlängen in der gleichen Größenordnung wie die Stollenelemente im Reifen-Fahrbahn-Kontakt.
