The free webinar "Addressing Road Safety Worldwide: Vulnerable Road Users, Human Factors, and Road Safety for Low- and Middle-Income Countries", hosted by the Transportation Research Board (TRB) and the World Road Association (PIARC), met great success by bringing together more than 500 people online, participating from more than 40 countries worldwide.
The webinar was held on April 9th, 2018 to present PIARC's activities on road safety, highlighting perspectives from around the world about vulnerable road users, human factors, and road safety in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMIC). A special focus was made on the Road Safety Manual, PIARC's interactive online tool, designed to develop and disseminate knowledge about road safety for countries at all levels of development.
Webinar presenters were:
- John Milton, Washington State Department of Transportation (moderator)
- Patrick Mallejacq, World Road Association
- Per Anderson, Swedish Transport Agency
- Lorenzo Domenichini, University of Florence
Presentations were followed by an interactive Q+A session with responses given by the international experts of PIARC both during the webinar and thereupon.
Of those attendees who responded to the post-webinar survey, 91% said they were satisfied or very satisfied.
