Secretary General of PIARC
PIARC's partnership policy aims at connecting us to international organisations dealing with roads or transport. This is to enrich our approaches and analyses, and sometimes even to develop joint projects. It also ensures that road infrastructure and road transport services are given the recognition and consideration they deserve.
In this spirit, PIARC has invited its partners to design sessions for the Calgary Congress, to be held virtually in February 2022. These "forward-looking sessions" will be co-constructed around the themes of the Congress, winter service and resilience, in order to complement the approaches of the Association's Technical Committees, and thus enrich the reflections of the delegates attending the Congress. We therefore look forward to working with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, the US Transportation Research Board, the World Bank, the China Highway & Transportation Society, the Standing International Road Weather Commission (SIRWEC), and others.
These colleagues will join the authors of papers selected in response to our international call for papers. The first phase of this call has resulted in the pre-selection of nearly 350 abstracts, which bodes well for our Congress!
