Here it comes a new PIARC Congress to generate again a global exchange of knowledge on policies and practices in road infrastructure and road transport. This time the focus will be on winter maintenance, resilience and decarbonisation.

The invitation to submit abstracts for the 17th World Winter Service and Road Resilience Congress, 10-13 March 2026, Chambery, France, is now open. The deadline for abstract submission is 31 January 2025.

The call addresses 8 topics on Winter Service, including new technologies, environmental aspects, management of human resources, weather forecast, urban areas and bicycle infrastructure among others.

The call also invites papers on 8 topics on Resilience, including disaster management, rural accessibility, freight road traffic, road safety, asset management, bridges and earthworks.

Another 7 topics address Decarbonization, including national decarbonization plans, urban mobility, Electric Road Systems, pavements and road statistics.

We invite all professionals of the road sector to be part of this Congress and to submit their papers whether they are research papers, best practices, road policies or case studies.

We have opened the doors for everyone to join this 17th World Congress on Winter Roads and Road Resilience and hope that you will travel with us on this beautiful road that will take us to Chambery in March 2026.
