Road Safety Audit of Ellinikon Urban Regeneration Project
The Ellinikon project involves the transformation of Athens’ former international airport site, covering an area of approximately 6,200,000 sqm, to an urban ecosystem for luxury residences, commercial uses and public enjoyment, including the largest coastal park in Europe of 2,000,000 sqm. The foreseen road network serves the movement of road users inside the development while also connecting the project to the existing urban road network, and comprises:

Preventing Deer and Moose Accidents Through Road Management Measures - Experiences and Solutions from Finland
More than 13,953 traffic accidents involving deer and moose are estimated to occur each year in Finland. These accidents cause at least €92 million in costs and lead to 122 personal injuries (3 fatalities) annually. Deer-related accidents are increasing as both deer populations and vehicular travel increase.

The Rights for Safer Roads for Pedestrians in Indonesia - Case Study: The Walkability Index in Three Metropolitan Along the Bus Rapid Transit Lanes
Walking from one point to another is part of everyday human life. In outdoor conditions, pedestrians should walk on pedestrian facilities such as sidewalks, zebra crossings, pedestrian bridges both above and below the road, and so on. As part of mobility, pedestrians also have the same rights as road users who use motorized and non-motorized vehicles. Traffic data shows that road accidents often involve pedestrians and motorized vehicles. WHO estimates that 23% of traffic accidents that cause fatalities [...]

A Control Speed of 80 km/h for Rural Roads in Germany
In 2021, about 60% of the people who died in road traffic died on Germany’s rural roads (serious injuries 40% (21,778)). This was almost 1,500 men, women and children in the year before last. The main cause of accidents is excessive speed. These are predominantly driving accidents or accidents in longitudinal traffic. The available scientific studies of recent years also proved beyond doubt the direct connection between inappropriate speed and serious accidents and that lower speed dramatically [...]

Analysis of the Effectiveness of a Speed Indicator Sign as a Traffic Calming Measure on Roads with Separate Carriageways (Motorways) affected by Road Works
Despite the reduction in the number of accidents and fatalities in recent decades, road safety still remains a major problem worldwide. Although numerous measures are being implemented to reduce accidents on both rural and urban road networks, there is still one recurrent hazard area: roads affected by road works. These can be due to rehabilitation or maintenance work on the carriageway or the pavement itself or to work within the direct vicinity of the carriageway.
