  • Definition : Creation of a wave that advances in front of a compactor afer several passes on fine soil with clay or silt or on granular material that contains too much moisture. Notes: 1. The phenomenon is due to elastic behaviour. Proper compaction cannot be obtained without reducing the moisture content. 2. This may also occur with too rich a bituminous mixture.

  • Definition : Ein Phänomen, das während der Verdichtung von feinkörnigem Boden mit Ton oder Schluff oder von körnigem Material, das zu viel Feuchtigkeit enthält, auftreten kann. Nach mehreren Übergängen mit dem Verdichtungsgerät, reagiert der Boden oder das körnige Material wie ein elastisches Material und es bildet sich eine Welle, die sich vor dem Verdichtungsgerät herschiebt. Eine brauchbare Verdichtung kann nicht ohne Verminderung des Wassergehalts erreicht werden. Beachte: Dies kann auch bei einem zu fetten bituminösen Gemisch auftreten.
