Participate in these two surveys and help PIARC's Task Force 3.1 "Road Infrastructure and Transport Security"
12 April 2021
The following questionnaire is one of the three currently organised by PIARC and collects data for the research of PIARC Task Force 3.1 “Road Infrastructure and Transport Security” It is available in English, French and Spanish, and should be completed by 15 June 2021.
About Survey 1 “Anti-Vandalism Measures and Devices”
Road managers are daily faced with acts of vandalism. Very often, the consequences are significant because in addition to the damage to material goods which are not always repaired quickly, the image of the road service is degraded. And sometimes, the act of vandalism is accompanied by moral attacks to the service or to maintenance staff.
The survey is also available in French and in Spanish.
One double-sided form should be filled in by measure or device chosen. The road managers interviewed are free to submit one or more A4 sheets.
The deadline is 15
June 2021. After filling in the form, please send it to
info@piarc.org copy to Philippe CHANARD, French member of Task Force 3.1 at the
following address: Piarc-France@outlook.fr
About Survey 2 “Road Freight”
Road transport is not immune to malicious acts. In some countries, it is even a scourge with heavy economic and human impacts. Physical security to prevent smuggling, sabotage, attacks, theft and other crimes is a priority for transport operators. In addition, carriers must also be concerned about security of information in order to better protect cargo and transportation information.
The survey is also available in French and in Spanish.
It is advisable to fill in a double-sided form for two selected security devices. Interviewed road carriers or their representatives are free to have one or more forms of effective and useful devices for the sector.
The deadline is 15 June 2021. After filling in the form, please send it to info@piarc.org copy to Philippe CHANARD, French member of Task Force 3.1 at the following address: Piarc-France@outlook.fr
PIARC Task Forces
Technical Committees have a 4-year work cycle to explore their subjects in detail. Task Forces, however, focus on emerging topics and have shorter delivery times and smaller mandates. This is because their topics are urgent, and PIARC member countries need a quicker answer. The different Technical Committees started their work cycle in January 2020, while the two new Task Forces, with their shorter work cycle of only 2 years, kicked off in November 2020.
Ongoing surveys
PIARC's Technical Committees and Task Forces often organise surveys to collect data for their work. In addition to the one described below, there are 2 more surveys to which you can contribute:
- Smart Roads Classifications (deadline 25 April 2021)
- Approaches to climate change and other hazards resilience (deadline 30 April 2021)
