Are you interested in the development of Africa's road infrastructure? Submit your 150-word proposal by November 30 and participate in this international event
SARF (South African Roads Federation), IRF (International Road Federation) and PIARC are organizing next 25-27 October 2022 in Cape Town (South Africa) the 7th Regional Conference for Africa, together with the PIARC International Seminar on Rural Roads and Road Safety.
Under the theme "Connecting Africa through Smart, Safe and Resilient Roads - Stimulating Growth and Trade on the Continent", you are invited to submit your abstracts related to one or more of the following topics:
- Determination of roads needs and financing mechanisms.
- Preserving Africa's road assets.
- Safe and efficient transport by road.
- Innovative practices to optimise road networks.
- Roads and the environment.
- The role of low volume roads in rural connectivity.
- Capacity development in the roads sector.
- Any other suitable papers that may not fit into the above sub-themes.
Civil engineering sectors, consultancies, local and regional governments or road construction and maintenance companies, among many others, are invited to take part in the event. In its last edition (Durban, 2018), the Conference gathered 420 delegates and 35 exhibitors, as well as numerous technical experts from the region.
