Exciting opportunity: PIARC seeks proposals for road resilience and decarbonization projects

Calling all experts! PIARC (World Road Association) is seeking proposals to deliver groundbreaking Strategic Outsourced Tasks (SOTs). With a deadline of August 23, 2024, this is your chance to shape the future of road transport!

PIARC is on the hunt for a contractor to take on essential tasks that will bolster the efforts of its Technical Committees. These committees, packed with international experts, tackle pressing issues, generate insightful reports, and host influential seminars. To supercharge their impact, PIARC is outsourcing tasks that demand meticulous research and innovative thinking.

Key Tasks for Outsourcing:

  • Task 1: Conduct a comprehensive literature review on best practices for managing extreme weather, disaster response, and climate change impacts to boost road network resilience.
  • Task 2: Perform an in-depth literature review on decarbonization strategies for road transport, focusing on cutting-edge technologies and financial incentives. 

By outsourcing these critical tasks, PIARC ensures its committees can dive deeper into meaningful discussions and produce top-tier, timely reports. This initiative supports the committees without diminishing their essential roles.

PIARC’s Project Oversight Team (POT), led by Setsuo Hirai, Vice Chair of the Strategic Planning Commission, will evaluate proposals based on:

  • Technical approach and methodology
  • Experience and team availability
  • Value for money
  • Proposed work plan and schedule
