Paving the way to a greener future: PIARC Conference on road decarbonization – Vienna 2025
Published 17 December 2024
Meet us at the conference scheduled to take place on 7-9 May 2025 in Vienna, Austria. Practitioners of road administrations, mobility providers and construction industry leaders are called upon to address the cross-cutting topic of decarbonization.
The decarbonization of the road sector is at the heart of PIARC’s mission and is a cornerstone of its current Strategic Plan. This focus will be the driving force behind the International Conference on Global Strategies for Infrastructure and Road Decarbonization, which will take place in Vienna, Austria. This event is co-organised by the PIARC Technical Committees 3.5 “Road infrastructure for road transport decarbonization” and 4.5 “Decarbonization of road construction and road maintenance” with the aim to create an exchange forum that would benefit the international road community.
Austria, a front-runner in climate action within the road sector, will host this event to share its achievements while exploring innovative international solutions to tackle the climate crisis. This workshop would be an opportunity to share Austrian achievements through the PIARC network and, at the same time, to keep up the pace by looking internationally for new technologies and innovations emerging in tackling the climate crisis provided by other countries.
On this occasion, PIARC serving as the primary hub for worldwide exchange of knowledge in the road sector will provide a platform for a joint effort for climate action and will connect professionals to tackle the issue of an outmost importance to find long-term solutions, identify best practices and work out new recommendations in the framework of the unique Austrian hospitality within an ambitious business environment.
